John Alekna
Assistant Professor, History of Science, Technology, & Medicine
I have been studying China for nearly two decades, first coming to Beijing before the 2008 Olympics.
I began teaching at Peking University in 2020, soon after graduating Princeton.
Chinese Tech Expertise
Living in Beijing, I study the history of technology and observe the scientific development of contemporary China from an increasingly rare vantage point.
I welcome inquiries from prospective students, fellow scholars, and groups seeking to understand science and technology in modern China.
